July 14, 2001 - WWW.GASSER.ORG has taken a step towards finding a cure for cancer.  Along with its parent company, DSI, GASSER.ORG is urging all visitors of this site to participate in assisting with this goal.

Folding@home, based upon the huge success of SETI@home,  is a non-invasive screen saver application that models protein folds when your machine is not being used.  The program downloads a small amount of data from Stanford University, processes the information when your machine is on but not being used and when it's done, sends back the results and requests another data set.

C'mon! It's THAT easy!  Download the screen saver, install it, turn it on and forget about it.  Let's let them know that Gasser's are a large part of the cure for cancer.  When you input your username (for statistical tracking only, they WON'T divulge any information!), please include the www.gasser.org team name as well so we can show the world what we can collectively accomplish!

TEAM NAME:  During the application install, if you put www.gasser.org as the team name in parenthesis after your user name, for example "username (www.gasser.org)" without the quotes,  all statistics will be gathered both under your individual username and the team name as well.

Even if you choose not to support the Gasser team name, please at least run the application for a cure.  Cancer is a terrible disease and I would be only too happy if I never again had to see another waste away from it.

NOTE:  DSI, an Enterprise-level consulting firm, is offering a new line item on all service and support contracts.  If customers agree, DSI will utilize its own resources to install and maintain Folding@Home screen savers on all desktops.
